Maestro's Work that Defines a Generation

The concert is dedicated to the memory of an incredible, passionate teacher and mentor, Ksenia Jiqia. Arts Honorable of Georgia, a director of Balanchivadze College of music in Tblisi, Georgia for 45 years, maestro Jiqia dedicated her entire life to teaching and raising extraordinary gifted kids. Among her students are world-renowned musicians, Otar Tatishvili, Medea Paniashvili, Roman Gorelashvili, and many other now famous composers, teachers, conductors, pianists, and musicologists, who have shaped modern Georgian and world musical diversity.

May 9, 1945 - Victory Day in Russia commemorates millions of people who lost their lives in the Second World War and honors the bravery of Soviet soldiers, the Allied forces, and Russian people on the whole whose heroism saved Europe from Nazi invaders.

In remembrance and appreciation of WWII veterans and Holocaust victims, Diana Bagrationi Foundation and VK Studios are glad to introduce you a special music event - a solo performance of the legendary Russian-American composer and singer Villi Tokarev, who is turning 80 years old. This charity event is generously supported by The Consulates General of Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan, the leading Russian-language television network - RTVi, and the Foundation's patrons.

Diana Bagrationi Foundation is a not-for-profit charitable organization established for the purpose of providing humanitarian assistance to those in need, particularly children and elderly individuals with life-threatening illnesses or other life crises. All proceeds from events organized by the Foundation go to the hospitals, providing treatment for pediatric cancer patients in US and abroad, as well as community educational and cultural initiatives to support extraordinary gifted children and their families.
